2.9.25 Charge of Yardage

Hayden Nall, Keegan Richardson, Connor Daniel and Rowdy Foster…
Please take note of the updated scorecard posted above.  After additional discussion and verification of yardage, your tee assignment will be the SBS Red tee, which will align closely with the RTJ Orange tees.

2.8.25 Announcements

  1. After further consideration, and with the potential threat of rain, the Tournament Committee has decided to continue using the same “per hole” scoring method as previous years.  Please review the “Format & Scoring” document above, along with the updated video.
  2. Please take note of the potential weather, specifically the chance of rain.  We will play in rain, as long as the course will allow and no threat of lightning.  Participants are encouraged to bring rain gear.
  3. Please take note of the weekend itinerary, posted above.
  4. Friday practice round pairings: (please check in and pay in the clubhouse)

12:00 Rowdy Foster, Blake Bayliss, Kristen Lingle
12:10 Hayden Nall, Drew Fisher, Bram Upchurch
12:20 Wil Huddleston, Leo Huddleston, Anna Bell, Troy Bell

2/1/25 Announcements:

Be sure to check out all of the new documents posted at the top of this page.

Practice round tee times have been booked for 11:30, 11:40, and 11:50 on Friday, February 14th.  Groupings will be posted by Saturday, Feb. 8th.

Reminder:  Members of the Americans are asked to wear navy.  Members of the Nationals are asked to wear red.

*Note about the Clubhouse:  Players and caddies will NOT have an opportunity to go to the clubhouse after hole #9 because The Senator course is located a long distance away, and hole #9 does not return to the main area.  Players and caddies should plan to take food and drinks with them onto the course.  Restrooms are available near #1 tee and at several locations on the golf course.

1/25/25 Announcements:

We’re only three weeks away from Round 1 of the 11th Annual Joshua Cup!

Reminder:  Today is the last day to submit your walk-up song selections!

Next weekend….be on the lookout for all of the important information about the tournament, which will be posted here on the Tournament Hub page:

  1. Tournament format and scoring
  2. Team announcements (live on Instagram, then posted here)
  3. Final itinerary for the weekend, including details about the Friday Night Welcome Dinner and Saturday Morning Opening Ceremony.  (Note:  Friday night will begin at 6pm central at Home2Suites hotel in Prattville and includes dinner.)

For all new participants, be encouraged to embrace your team colors, and the overall USA theme of the event.  The Americans will wear navy.  The Nationals will wear red.  Each player wiill receive a team pullover at check in, to be worn both days.  Players on both teams are encouraged to wear khaki or gray pants/bottoms (of course depending on weather conditions).  Parents and spectators are encouraged to support their team colors.  SBS Golf will have a limited supply of outerwear and shirts available for purchase onsite.

Round 1 tee times and pairings will be announced on Saturday morning at the Opening Ceremony.

1/4/25 Announcements:
We’re six weeks away from the first tee shot in the 11th Annual Joshua Cup!  The field is full, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve listened and responded to your feedback from previous years by limiting the size of the field.  We have 24 players (12 boys and 12 girls), which means each match carries more weight because there are fewer points available.  Also, the smaller field will give us a better opportunity to connect with each other during the fellowship events (Friday dinner and Sunday breakfast).  THANK YOU for this feedback and we’re excited about a smaller, more intimate event.

The specifics of the tournament format and the hole-by-hole yardage will be posted by February 1st.  Please remember, we will be playing The Senator course this year, which has hosted a variety of big time golf tournaments including LPGA events, PGA tour qualifiers, and Alabama state high school championships!

The first draft of the teams has been completed, and the Tournament Committee will be meeting soon to review and finalize.  This means it’s time for us to collect additional information from each participant so that we can finalize the logistics.

Caddies & Carts:  As a reminder, each player is strongly encouraged to have a caddie.  Players not holding a valid driver’s license are required to have a caddie since we use carts in this tournament.  We believe the inclusion of caddies and carts is a big part of promoting the family friendly spirit of the event.  Spectator carts are sold and distributed at the discretion of RTJ Capitol Hill.  In previous years, carts have been very limited (and in some years not allowed) due to additional tournaments taking place on the same weekend.  It is the understanding of SBS Golf that we are the only event of the weekend this year, which likely means spectator carts will be available, but this is not a guarantee.  If RTJ Capitol Hill allows spectator carts, spectators must pay the fee in the pro shop and carts must remain on the cart path at all times.

Friday Practice Round: Joshua Cup participants may book a practice round for Friday.  The Step by Step Golf rate will be $40/player and must be paid in the pro shop at check in.  SBS Golf has a block of tee times starting at 11am and we will pair JC participants together if you’d like to be part of the group.  You are also free to book on your own.  Please note your preference in the form below.

Friday Night Family Fellowship & Dinner will take place at the Home2Suites hotel in Prattville, AL.  Dinner will be served from 6:00-7:00.  Beginning at 7:00, we’ll discuss tournament details and have a short fellowship message.  Attendance on Friday night is not required but highly recommended so that players can meet each other and learn more about the tournament format.

Sunday Morning Breakfast Buffet:  Please remember that each player and their caddie receive free breakfast tickets for the buffet.  Families may purchase additional tickets for $15/person (ages 11-under are free).

Please click the link below and submit the requested information by January 10th

2.  As of today, we only have four remaining spots available in the field…..1 girl and 3 boys.

3.  We’ve established a group discount rate at the Home2Suites hotel, located approximately one mile from the golf course.  (This is likely the location of the Friday Night Dinner, but participants are not required to stay at this hotel.)  Reservations can be made online using this link
